AXESS Pay Machines and Flap Gates for the Venezia People Mover

A modern cable liner shuttle has been built in Venice/Italy to establish a link between "L'Isola del Tronchetto" and the "Piazzale Roma". Two trains, each with a capacity of 200 passengers, carry visitors every 10 minutes into the City of Canals. The project is particularly impressive due to its spectacular glass and steel architecture, together with the 180 meter long bridge over the "Canale Tronchetto" and a second bridge over the "Canale Santa Chiara". Trains are operated completely unmanned, without personnel either on the trains themselves or at the ticket machines, but with a central video monitoring system. The fully automated point-of-sale systems supplied by AXESS, including connection to the systems run by ACTV (the local public transport company) as well as the modern Flap Gates controlling access to the two terminuses and one halfway station, integrate seamlessly into the modern design.
