AXESS premieres at the „Messe Muenchen“

Register on the Internet, pay with a credit card, print your ticket at home and walk through the turnstile - that is how quick and easy it is now to visit the “Messe Muenchen”. The new point of sale (POS) and entry control systems from AXESS make it all possible; they were first employed at the productronica 2009. After a rigorous evaluation of the systems on the market, the “Messe Muenchen” decided to replace the obsolete magnetic card technology with a modern system by AXESS. The ergonomically ideal solution offered by the AXESS card reader and the AXESS data centre’s modern software architecture were important criteria in making this decision. Parallel to the introduction of the AXESS system, the visitor registration software was also completely revamped and fully interconnected with the new AXESS POS and entry control system.

Technologically, the data exchange is entirely based on advanced SOAP-XML standards. Around 30,000 visitors came to the productronica 2009 during the four-day event, and the 10 ticket offices and 48 turnstiles managed the crowds without a problem. The culmination of the new system’s introductory phase will be the BAUMA in April 2010, where more than 500,000 visitors are expected. Approximately 150 ticket offices and over 130 turnstiles shall process them – all with systems from AXESS.
