New cashier systems for Salzburg's outdoor pools
In the coming autumn or spring 2006, the cash-register and access-control systems at the
Leopoldskron, Volksgarten and Alpenstrasse open-air swimming pools in Salzburg, as well as
at the Eisarena Salzburg, are to be updated as part of the general renovations at these
facilities.
After an international call for tenders, the good news is that the contract was awarded to
a local firm: AXESS AG, headquartered in the Salzburg district of Wals-Siezenheim.
The Leopoldskron outdoor pool, affectionately called "Lepi" by the people of
Salzburg, has remained one of Austria's largest and best-loved open-air swimming pools
since being built in 1964. Each swim season, the number of visitors can reach up to
280,000, and on peak days, 11,000.
