Parallel to the fact that resorts are finding it difficult in finding people to do the lift
ticket checking job, the benefits of having an RFID pass for the guest - like booking the
skipass via the web without cuing up at the POS - are getting more and more.
In Europe these methods are established in almost all resorts since many years. As a matter
of fact European skiers are used to turnstiles. The American market is different and
doesn't require heavy machines with a turnstile to run RFID at the loading zone of a
lift - but a lean, high speed reading gate with flaps that every skier and boarder is
familiar with.
