Axess obtains on order for the supply of an access solution to the Nürburgring

The Nürburgring is surrounded by a myth that requires no explanation. Indeed, it may not be capable of being put into words. Extending over a length of 28 kilometres and nicknamed the “Green Hell”, the circuit is familiar to every generation of motor sports fans as well as being one of the most dangerous places in Germany.

Legends such as Niki Lauda, Clay Regazzoni, Michael Schuhmacher and Juan Pablo Montoya have set countless records here. Sudden alterations in the weather conditions and tarmac properties and light changes still make the course unpredictable today. All Grand Prix enthusiasts dream of taking their own vehicle around the Nürburgring.

The North Loop of the circuit, where one or more laps can be booked at an affordable price, opens up this possibility to everyone. Some devotees even treat themselves to a season ticket. The demand for these tourist sessions is very high. In order to ensure that procedures continue to take place in the most efficient way possible, capricorn NÜRBURGRING GmbH has decided to install a new access system,   and an order for the erection of five barriers was placed with Axess AG in mid-November. These Car Axess NG Gates are expected to be in position by the end of January 2017. Axess will integrate this solution into the existing software system via an application programming interface (API). Lanes will be fitted with Car Axess NG Exit Pillars on both sides in order to facilitate ticket checks for right-hand drive vehicles. The expectation is that the first vehicles will be using the system to access the Nürburgring by mid-February 2017.
